Nguyen Thi Van Anh is an expert in regulatory reform, private sector development, and innovation. She has over 10 years of experience working on projects funded by USAID, DFAT, and other international organizations. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program, a full scholarship supported by Harvard Kennedy School and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
From 2021 to 2024, she served as a Senior Project Manager at MBI Innovation Challenges, leading innovation-driven agricultural projects, supporting the implementation of high-tech agricultural insurance, and fostering the startup ecosystem. She also worked as a Regulatory Reform Specialist at the Improving Private Sector Competitiveness (IPSC) Project, where she managed the development of quantitative policy impact assessment tools, assisting the Vietnamese government and business organizations in regulatory reforms. Her contributions played a key role in promoting university engagement in policy research and supporting innovation, green transition, and women-led businesses.
Before that, she was a Consultant for the PFM, PPP & PCI Project (2021-2023), where she helped develop a sustainable business model for the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), strengthened international arbitration capacity, and worked with the Ministry of Finance on public financial reform. As a Consultant for the USAID LEAP III Project (2019-2021), she collaborated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to draft the PPP Law, analyze stakeholder feedback, and organize policy consultation workshops.
Earlier in her career, she worked at the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council for Administrative Reform (2017-2021), where she advocated for business-friendly policies and organized the Vietnam Economic Forum. She also gained experience as a Researcher at the National Institute for Science and Technology Policy and Strategy Studies (Ministry of Science and Technology) and as a Legal Associate at Interla Law Firm.
In addition to her professional work, she is the co-author of several research papers on finance, sustainable tourism, and innovation.
